Job Description Job Description Pay: $33.00 - $44.00 per hour Job description: Urgent Care Registered Nurse (RN) | Part-Time 24hrs New Bedford, MA | $33.00-$44.00/hour | Part-Time (24 hours/week) Schedule: 2 weekdays 9:30am-6pm Every Other Saturday 8am-4:30pm Position Overview Join our Urgent Care team at a great non-profit clinic setting. Provide fast-paced nursing care including patient assessment, triage, diagnostic testing, immunizations, and patient education to diverse communities. Requirements Licensure & Certification: RN License (Massachusetts - active/current) BLS/CPR with AED certification required (must maintain) BSN preferred ($120 bi-weekly differential) Experience: 1-3 years RN experience in physician office or community health Med/Surg experience (minimum 1 year desirable) IV experience preferred Urgent care or fast-paced clinic experience valued Skills: Epic EMR or electronic health records experience Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese preferred (not required) Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities Patient education and teaching skills Key Responsibilities Clinical Care: Comprehensive patient assessment and nursing history Triage and prioritize patient needs appropriately Respond to emergency situations with clinical competence Administer immunizations and treatments per protocol Perform diagnostics: EKGs, Holter monitors, vision/hearing tests, CLIA waived testing IV therapy and procedures assistance Patient Management: Triage phone calls and determine urgency of care Develop care plans with short/long-term goals Coordinate patient/family education and teaching plans Process prescription refills per facility protocol Serve as patient advocate and rights defender Documentation & Operations: Document in electronic health record (Epic preferred) Prepare test results for provider review Order and stock immunizations, monitor expiration dates Dispose of expired medications per protocol Provide orientation and direction to medical assistants Ideal Candidate Empathetic listener who identifies patient needs holistically Critical thinker with strong clinical assessment skills Problem-solver comfortable under pressure Patient champion advocating for rights and dignity Team player mentoring medical assistants and new nurses Organized multitasker managing competing priorities Tech-savvy with EMR proficiency Benefits Package Work-Life Balance: Part-time flexibility - 24 hours/week Primarily weekdays (only 1 Saturday every 2 weeks) Every Sunday off Weather closure policy 23 PTO days 12 paid holidays (prorated) Competitive Pay: $33-$44/hour base rate $120 bi-weekly BSN differential $5/hour weekend differential $2/hour preceptor differential Keywords: Urgent Care RN Jobs, Part-Time Registered Nurse, FQHC RN, Community Health Nurse, Urgent Care Nursing, Triage Nurse, Massachusetts RN, Bilingual Nurse, Med Surg RN, IV Certified Nurse, Epic EMR, Weekend Nursing Jobs, Per Diem RN Job Type: Part-time Work Location: In person
