Job Description:
Job Description TAPPS is conducting a search on behalf of a
stealth-mode startup that is building the future of cancer
surveillance. Our company is developing next-generation cancer
screening and survivorship programs at the intersection of
oncology, diagnostics, epidemiology, and AI-enabled technology. As
we scale, we are hiring our first dedicated Medical Director to
help architect the clinical foundation of the organization. This is
a highly visible, deputy-level role reporting directly to a
Co-Founder. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, strategic, and
excited to build in a fast-growing startup environment where scope
and impact will expand quickly. What You’ll Do: Lead Clinical &
Protocol Strategy Develop and refine medical protocols for
pan-tumor cancer screening and surveillance programs Translate
oncology best practices into scalable, AI-enabled care pathways
Evaluate emerging diagnostic technologies and screening approaches
Ensure clinical rigor and regulatory awareness across initiatives
Build Survivorship & Longitudinal Programs Design frameworks for
recurrence monitoring and long-term follow-up Integrate risk
stratification and supportive care into surveillance models
Implement clinical programs within virtual or hybrid care delivery
environments Partner Across AI & Innovation Collaborate closely
with AI and data science teams to operationalize clinical standards
Interpret and validate AI-informed outputs within clinical context
Help shape responsible, evidence-based integration of diagnostic
innovation Contribute to Scientific Leadership Guide translational
research strategy and evidence generation Support publications,
abstracts, and scientific positioning Serve as a credible medical
voice externally What We’re Looking For: MD (preferred) or PhD
Strong oncology background, with experience in: Cancer screening
and/or surveillance Oncology diagnostics or early detection
Development of medical protocols Experience working
cross-functionally with technical teams (AI, data science,
diagnostics) Comfort operating in a visible, strategic, and
hands-on role Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in an
