Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an Associate Buyer for its Electrical Cable and Flexible Conduit (ECFC) Division. The position is located in New Bedford, MA. The successful candidate will provide hands-on process improvements using a combination of Purchasing and Supply Chain skill sets to support our Business Systems key performance indicators of Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation.

Purpose Of The Position

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will interface with external suppliers, internal manufacturing, engineering, and sales team members to improve inventory performance, cost, delivery, quality, and lead time. The Associate Buyer candidate will have a working knowledge of MRP concepts, Inventory Control, and Logistics/Freight. This positions will analyze production requirements and orders material to ensure an uninterrupted flow of goods and services sufficient to support the master production schedule. This position will also identify and develop new sources of supply and new/alternative materials in support of the business unit's production team and its cost reduction efforts.

The Associate Buyer at ECFC will participate in the promotion and facilitation of events supporting the entire value chain. This position will focus on MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and process improvements allowing us to accelerate the standardization, stability, and simplification of the manufacturing supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
Creates purchase orders and facilitates all changes and expedites; reconciles pending invoices.
Takes ownership and actively maintains proper order processing, inclusive of DoA, GL accuracy, and data entry.
Updates master file records as needed.
Develop and monitor standard costs for raw materials.
Performs cost and supply analysis and develops optimized purchasing plan as required.
Develops new domestic sources as needed and pro-actively identifies potential future sources to be evaluated and qualified.
Participates in strategic sourcing decisions to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
Problem Solving which includes root cause analysis and preventive action implementation.
Maintains clear lines of communication between procurement and manufacturing operations.
Ability to work with all departments including Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Manufacturing to obtain the best pricings, quality, service, and delivery.
Manages Ad hoc projects and reports to support the development and implementation of MRP systems; manage the databases associated with the procurement modules

Qualifications
BS in Business discipline
Procurement experience at least 3 years.
Procurement/Supply Chain negotiating experience in an industrial environment.
Must be proficient with MS OS and general purchasing software solutions. Experience with JDE/Oracle preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms.
Experience with inventory control programs.
Strong practical skills within a Lean manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in time and project management.
Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual contributor.
