The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking an exceptional
Licensed Practical Nurse to fill two positions on third shift.
Oversees the maintenance of a safe, secure, and therapeutic unit
environment by participating in the coordination of staff
assignments with the charge nurse; provides total nursing care and
serves as the primary teacher for medication issues and groups.
Serves as a role model and provides leadership to staff in lower
classifications. Maintain a person centered, trauma informed
atmosphere and professional performance.
Please Note: This is a Seasonal position for an anticipated
duration of 90 days and is 40 hours per week. The selected
candidate will work 11:15 pm to 7:15 am with Rotating Weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not
- Provides direct care to patients in assigned area including
activities of daily living, meal supervision, escorts
responsibility for group activities as assigned, and orientation of
patients to the ward.

to hospital policy
- Develops therapeutic relationships with individual patients,
groups, and family members to facilitate continuity of care.

- Working knowledge of the established nursing procedures for the
administration of medications.
- Current licensure in Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Licensed
- Ability to read, write speak, and comprehend English to
communicate effectively with a diverse group of patients,
employees, and supervisors.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate
effectively in oral expression.
- Trained on de-escalation and nonviolent crisis intervention
- Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual

comprehensive services to adults and children. Programs include a
16-bed acute in-patient unit, Case Management, Day Treatment
Program, and Adult Community Clinical Services. The Pocasset Mental
