Job Description:
About the Opportunity Job Summary The Assistant Director,
Wellness & Student Support at the Office of Prevention and
Education at Northeastern (OPEN) will be a member of a
collaborative team responsible for prevention, education, training,
and support related to alcohol and other drugs, sexual violence,
sexual health and wellness for the Northeastern University student
community. The role includes supporting students and assisting in
implementing comprehensive, research-driven, socio-culturally
relevant, and in-depth prevention programming to create
long-lasting change for the Northeastern community.
Responsibilities include : Brief Intervention and Support Services
Provide alcohol and other drug assessment and brief intervention
services utilizing BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention
for College Students)/ Motivational Interviewing. Facilitate OPEN’s
psychoeducational alcohol groups for students who have been
mandated due to alcohol policy violations. Provide trauma-informed
case management and advocacy services for students affected by
sexual violence, including serving as an advisor for students
pursuing university processes as requested. Co-facilitate survivor
support groups as needed. Provide individual consultation to
students looking to support their peers around these topic areas.
Programs, Outreach, Service Promotion Conduct community outreach
and promotion of Office of Prevention and Education at Northeastern
(OPEN) services including offering orientation presentations,
developing tabling events, outreach and communication to community
partners. Plan and promote Awareness Weeks in collaboration with
other staff. Contribute to macro level efforts related to
prevention, education, and student support. This could include
developing new curriculum and campaigns or facilitating programs
and presentations with students and/or staff on the topics of
alcohol and other drugs, sexual violence, consent, sexual health,
relationships, mental health and other wellness topics. Other
duties as needed or assigned. For example, supporting training
and/or supervision of clinical social work interns and peer
educators as needed. Qualifications Master's degree in social work,
counseling or psychology with the ability to work toward clinical
licensure Experience working with young adults and/or supporting
survivors of sexual violence Experience communicating with young
adults on matters related to alcohol and other drugs, sexual
violence, sexual health and/or other wellness topics Demonstrated
commitment to providing inclusive and affirming services for
students of all backgrounds and identities Sophisticated
understanding of how intersectionality, privilege, and
socioeconomic status relate to issues around alcohol/other drugs,
sexual violence, sexual health and wellness Strong organizational
skills Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication
skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Availability for occasional work evenings as necessary, with
appropriate notice for planning purposes Position Type Student

Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 107S Expected Hiring Range: $53,615.00
- $75,728.75 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary
will depend on several factors, which may include your education,
experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well
as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the
role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to
change.
