We are searching for a Lead Laboratory Technologist to perform various duties to support and in support of the Laboratory/Pathology Department. Perform laboratory analyses and identify critical or unexpected results, consult with vendors to troubleshoot malfunctions, investigate all incidents, document and report all findings. Serve as department resource, prioritize and schedule staff assignments, prepare and present at least 4 in-service trainings annually, and insure compliance with all safety regulations and standards including POC programs and OSHA regulations. Perform other related duties within the scope of position as required or assigned. Provide functional or technical supervision over other employees in same or closely related classifications, where scope of supervisory responsibility is limited to direction, guidance, explanation, etc.

• Hours: 40 hours
• Shift: Evening/Night shift: 2:30pm - 11pm, start times may vary; Some weekend and Holiday coverage required.
• Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA
  Education and/or Experience Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent (minimum of 36 semester hours in biology and physical sciences) is required.
  • Certification as Medical Technologist such as MT (A.S.C.P.) or comparable agency approved by the National Commission for Health Certifying agencies is required within one year of date of hire.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience is required.
  • Prior blood banking experience strongly preferred
  • Experience as a Generalist preferred.
    Must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and seasonal Influenza.
