We are searching for a Government Affairs Specialist to perform a variety of duties to promote and advance Southcoast Health ' s strategic objectives through key legislative and regulatory policy initiatives. Support the Government and Community Relations team to provide research, data analysis, report compilation and presentation of data including but not limited to legislative and regulatory issues that impact Southcoast Health and the healthcare industry. Utilize external consultants and interface with key internal and external stakeholders to provide policy research and data analysis related to changes in the health care industry. Evaluate and develop strategies to analyze, compose, prepare and present various reports and papers associated with local, state and federal legislation and regulation associated with the health care industry. Perform a variety of office and clerical duties both within and in support of the Government and Community Relations Department. Provide functional or technical supervision of assigned personnel and volunteers where scope of supervisory responsibility is limited to direction, guidance, explanation, etc. Hours: 40hrs (full time) Shift: Day Shift 8am-4:30pm Travel: May require driving on average 3 or more times per week. Education and/or Experience Requirements: A Bachelor 's Degree or the equivalent education and experience is required. Must possess the ability to manage and lead people, and must exhibit the ability to effectively set and manage deadlines. Experience with planning and development, professional and persuasive writing and/or the ability to network and build strong internal and external relationships preferred. Experience in grant writing or research coordination is required.
