Assistant Program Director

Job Description:

As a member of the Agency's management team, the Assistant Program Director will provide leadership, supervision, and daily management of all assigned programs, and will work collaboratively with the Program Director to provide services in accordance with the agency's mission and vision. Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Program Director, responsible for the development, supervision and management of assigned programs, services, contracts and supports.
  • Maintain program compliance with all applicable state funding agencies, certification regulations and requirements and quality service standards
  • Conduct audits as assigned and implement plans of correction to ensure all programs are compliant with KDC and funding source expectations and regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies that promote and facilitate a person-centered approach based on best clinical practice, in conjunction with other KDC Adult Services programs
  • Implement and promote KDC's mission through the development and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives and standards
  • Facilitate a team based approach to program supports and services
  • Assist the Program Director in the development, supervision and management of designated program models, in collaboration with the lead staff member(s) for those programs
  • Coordinate, promote, and participate in community outreach, fundraising, education and public relation activities on behalf of programs and the Agency
  • Assist the Program Director with monitoring program budgets on a monthly basis
  • Provide administrative on-call back up coverage during non-office hours; provide direction and response as required
  • Facilitate family/consumer participation in program planning and satisfaction surveys
  • Participate in staff meetings, group and individual supervision and case reviews as required
  • In collaboration with the Program Director, screen, interview and evaluate staff
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned Required Skills:
    • Ability to drive, frequent in-state travel required
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to sit for extended time periods
    • Frequent phone use required
    • Ability to use computer
    • Must possess computer skills necessary to meet the demands of the job, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, E-mail systems (Outlook), and the internet
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required

      • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families and administrative and/or supervisory experience.
      • Bachelor's degree in human services related field preferred or comparable experience and education.
