What You'll Do The Real-World Data & Analytics team draws upon deep expertise in data science, analytics, and oncology clinical domain knowledge to provide innovative, data-driven strategies for clients in the life sciences industry across all phases of product development and commercialization. Our work helps clients define markets, demonstrate value, and inform business decisions throughout product lifecycles. The Director of Clinical Data Science will help lead a team of talented data scientists and scale its capabilities as a competitive analytics group. You will have the opportunity to work on complex business problems leveraging our in-house data sources within a collaborative environment. You will be expected to lead the delivery of healthcare data analytics initiatives by leading a team that provides accurate and timely data preparation, analysis and insights, quality assurance and ongoing system and process maintenance. The person will be responsible for building relationships across key internal and external business stakeholders. You will assume responsibility for measuring and reporting key operational metrics of your group to leaders across the organization. This role requires an individual that can blend deep technical ability and leadership with a strong sense of communication and collaboration across the organization. This is a role for someone who is passionate about unlocking business value with data and advanced analytics. This is an influential data-centric business role within a growth area with broad scope to shape our data product offerings and user experience. This person will also be expected to contribute to Ontada's scientific thought leadership. How you'll spend the majority of your day--- Act as an internal analytics expert, partnering with customers to create analytics solutions, manage/improve existing solutions and identify areas of opportunity Identify and analyze opportunities to help clients achieve organizational goals. Summarize the findings and support prioritization discussions Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to create best practices and deliver consistent data, reporting and insights Provide leadership to solve business problems and achieve the outcomes Be a change agent within the organization and build a collaborative community that leverages data to support business strategies and objectives Partner with the data visualization team to deliver rich, easy to use, interactive, and intuitive data visualizations that apply the concept of using data to tell a story while driving to actionable insights Actively participate in and influence discussions around reporting requirements, visualization, and data design Prioritize team workload for maximum impact and efficiency of use Coach, mentor, and guide a team of analysts providing day-to-day oversight of activities as well as long-term career pathways and growth Facilitates and participates in peer review meetings for each of the deliverables Proactively communicates, collaborates, and builds relationships with external and internal clients Interacts with clients to clarify needs and in reviewing results Translating the findings from data into implications or recommendations for business decisions Provides quality assurance on all deliverables Obtains proper approvals on each of the deliverables Develop resolutions to ambiguous problems that require frequent use of creativity This description is general in nature and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. What You'll Need 8-10 years of relevant clinical data, product and analytical experience supporting the life sciences segment Must be a strong leader with at least 2 years of direct managerial experience (this role will lead a team of 15) Must have experience driving client engagements and working directly with clients in the life sciences market segment Bachelors/Master's degree in Healthcare, Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Research Methods, or related fieldAdvanced degree (Masters or PhD) a plus. Must be authorized to work in the US (sponsorship is not available) Specialized Skills and Experience Strong team leader and collaborator with excellent business acumen Strong ability to provide technical mentorship and career path development for analytical associates Proven ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and documenting progress towards those deadlines Proven experience solving complex business issues through data-related tools Significant experience in product development and delivery including leading and growing a data science team Ability to be agile and deal with ambiguity Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills Additional Skills Healthcare consulting experience Familiarity with oncology treatment paradigms and patient journey Publications, conference posters, scientific writings in healthcare or life sciences Your Work Environment, Benefits & Perks This is a REMOTE work location ideally based in Eastern or Central United States with Boston being an ideal location. You can expect some occasional travel (up to 30%).
