Job Details
Essential Job Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
Organize the work within the department to maximize resources and
provide efficient and effective service.
Oversee and when necessary, conduct admission assessments to
determine patient admission eligibility and facilitate treatment
team reviews when applicable.
Oversee the census in the inpatient, transitional, residential, and
partial hospitalization programs to ensure maximum occupancies in
accordance with contractual obligations and organizational
goals.
Establish and execute a review process to ensure that patient
financial data and accounts receivable standards of quality are met
to enable timely, accurate billing, and collection of funds.
Participate with CNO in the planning, development, and
implementation of Patient Access functions.
Maintain effective working relationships and interact regularly
with Management, Clinical Services, Marketing, Quality Improvement
and Patient Accounts to advance corporate goals of quality and
service.
Work cohesively and cooperatively with clinical staff to ensure a
high-quality admissions experience for patients.
Lead and/or participate on teams related to patient access as
needed and maintain and promote effective working relationships
with all departments.
Maintain current technical and managerial skills necessary to
provide support/supervision to assigned personnel.
Develop annual goals and objectives for self and the department
which are consistent with corporate goals.
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Develop and update department policies and work rules as
required/needed.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff as needed.
Proficient understanding of payer systems, especially related to
eligibility, authorizations, copayments, coinsurance, and
deductibles.
Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with the public,
health care professionals, patient access personnel, and referral
agencies.
Analyze complex issues and solve them efficiently and
creatively.
Supervisory and managerial skills to oversee the functioning of the
patient access staff and to develop effective working relationships
within the department and among other program personnel.
Rotate On-Call Coverage with designated Staff.
Assess, recommend, and implement changes to processes in assigned
departments. This may also include temporary management of assigned
departments.
Collaborate with Human Resources and directors on recruitments,
orientations, onboarding, performance management, credentialing,
and professional development.
Manage payroll and scheduling of the administrative team.
Oversee the management of the ACHESS platform.
Perform outcome measure analysis of Tridiuum and ACHESS for
Directors and Senior Leadership and report findings to Quality
Management as part of the QM plan.
Cultivate effective and cohesive working relationships across all
areas while driving continuous improvements in the delivery of
administrative services to the clinicians, directors, and senior
management.
Work collaboratively with the CNO to develop and implement policies
and procedures related to the administrative team.
