The Director of Admissions is responsible for
24/7 management of the Patient Access Department. Creates,
implements, and
analyzes essential functions of Patient Access to ensure that
maximum census is
attained in each program. The Director provides training and
support for
the day-to-day operations of the Patient Access Department to
ensure
appropriate and timely admission to substance use disorder and
mental health
treatment programs. This position will oversee workflow studies
to
evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and make
recommendations to
improve productivity. The Director of Patient Access will develop
and
maintain constructive relationships with referral parties, managed
care
organizations, and the community to maximize admissions to
Gosnold
programs. The Director will be responsible for working
collaboratively with the
Marketing Department to source, develop and maintain community
relationships with all referral agencies. The Director of Patient
Access will establish and track referral satisfaction survey
indicators and make changes accordingly. Responsibilities include
evaluating staff and staffing levels, hiring,
supervision, monitoring of departmental policies, and assisting
with the daily
operations of admitting patients to all services. This role is
responsible for the strategic management and oversight of
referrals,
pre-authorization, census management, and admissions. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: YesMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE,
Experience, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:The requirements
listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities
required to perform the job.
Education: A Bachelor's in Nursing Degree preferred. . A
LICSW, LMHC considered. (Five (5) years in management,
coordinating, or
supervisory role in a complex admission setting may be substituted
for the educational requirement.)
Experience: A
minimum of five (5) years of experience with all aspects of an
admission
setting: assessing appropriateness for admission (according to
criteria
for levels of care for substance use disorder and mental health
programs); patient and family customer service; hiring,
training,
supervision, and termination of staff. Five (5) years of experience
in
administrative solid leadership and expertise. Knowledge of
psychiatric hospital level of care criteria, ability to assess
patient
understanding, Medical, SUD, and Behavioral Health.
Skills: Proficient
with electronic health records, other electronic management
systems,
data/analytic systems, payer systems, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft
Office products,
Certificates,
Licenses, and Registrations: BSN, LICSW or LMHC
