Position Summary and Responsibilities Teledyne is looking for a highly motivated self-starter capable of managing a portfolio of the company's diverse programs based upon ocean technology products ranging from acoustic modems to autonomous underwater vehicles. The position will focus on delivering against customer expectations on schedule and within budget, contract research and development capture, and customer relationship management. Candidates should have a solid background in project / program management with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects. Occasional travel throughout the marine technology marketplace to support the various programs will be required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage large strategic business unit projects and programs
  • Deliver all program requirements and manage projects on-schedule and on-budget
  • Be the primary customer Point of Contact for the business
  • Manage program / project Bid and Proposal process
  • Act as Bid and Proposal Capture manager for all Bids
  • Lead contract negotiations and issues and assist with contract modifications as required
  • Attend required customer meetings and act as the company liaison for all discussions
  • Assist with all operations, service and repair aspects for projects and programs
  • Actively monitor program budget and schedule and reports issues in advance of problems to Senior level executives
  • Project Reporting, actuals versus budget and maintenance of the IFS projects including starting and closing the projects when needed
  • Provides strategic input and objectives to help form business plans and actions
  • Implement and execute business level strategic plans
  • Candidate must possess U.S. citizenship Qualifications Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Technical Field focused on Engineering or Technology
    • Ten (10) plus years of experience managing technical project and programs
    • Prior experience in the ocean science & technology community
    • Prior experience manager individuals or teamsJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
      • Expertise in project / program management with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects
      • Expertise managing projects and programs using industry standard tools
      • Firm understanding of Earned Value Management
      • Expertise in proposal spreadsheet preparation and review for both the internal proposal calculation/approval and external government template used for proposal submission
      • Excellent presentation skills, ability to create and present complex issues in a simple to understand manner
      • Ability to coordinate and execute large program reviews
      • Ability to prepare Small Business Subcontracting Plan and execute reporting, preferred
      • Comprehensive knowledge of FAR and DFAR clauses and their effect on reporting and revenue recognition, preferred
      • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal skills
      • Ability to learn and understand complex technical requirements
      • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office productsThe physical/mental demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
