Job Decription The Director Product Development will direct global product development functions within a specific category ensuring collaboration with Global Brand Management to deliver robust and innovative product pipelines. This person will lead their category in new product development from concept to launch. Critical thinking skills are required in order to maneuver any challenges that arise within the development timing. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leads category product development strategy to ensure innovative product concepts, unique product positioning for story telling, technical innovation, and on time delivery
• Interfaces with Brand Management, Product Development and Creative in the "discovery" phase and finalizing the assortment
• Directs the category to turn new product innovations and concepts and introduce relevant solutions to customer pain points and assortment gaps
• Leads product innovation review to identify new trends in product format, ingredients, delivery systems, and technology
• Direct internal, consumer and clinical testing and work with marketing counterparts to determine product claims. Work with TIG to manage testing budget
• Responsible for development and tracking of new products/promotional concepts from concept to launch.
• Partners collaboratively with Creative, Marketing, and NPD to ensure the products are innovative and timely
• Work with all sales channels to ensure projects meet the needs of the marketplace
• Maintains a strong understanding of the global cosmetics business and strive to develop and advance category products
• Work with brand ambassadors on all product/ingredient storytelling, claims to be shared with global beauty press
• Participate as internal spokesperson for education
• Work with marketing, commercial and R&D to ensure clean status with all retail partners Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:

  • Help to drive growth of the skincare category. Qualifications & Competencies:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 7+ years of total work experience
    • Extensive knowledge of the Beauty industry
    • Business insights - is able to move comfortably between quantitative analytics and marketing creativity
    • Drives results - Ability to think strategically or tactically in different situations
    • Collaborates - works collaboratively with different teams in order to move the project forward.
    • Cultivates innovation - delivers innovative concepts and products to build a robust pipeline.
    • Develops Talent - trains and develops team members to collaborate and deliver robust products and programs for the brand
