Location: New Bedford, MADescription: Our food manufacturing client is seeking a Plant Manager for their facility East of Providence RI. This position will be responsible for full P&L over the plant of 200+ employees and will have 8 direct reports from the various departments. This facility is scheduled to go through an SAP implementation in 2021 so experience using SAP will be helpful. They are looking for someone with strong LEAN experience. This is not a turnaround situation. The plant is doing well and needs a strong leader to continue to steer the ship in the right direction.Responsibilities:* Direct and manage plant operations for production maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving* Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner* Develop and control profits plans and budget* Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital operating expenditures manpower wages and salaries* Manage capital asset maintenance* Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards* Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses* Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives Incorporate shop-floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel* Provides direction, development, and leadership to the production Manager and supervisors* Ensures proper scheduling, purchasing, accounting, record keeping, and inventory control activities and procedures. * Maintains plant standards for cleanliness, productivity, and maintenance. * Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards* Qualifications & Requirements:* A four-year bachelor's degree is required (technical degree preferred)* Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a food manufacturing facility as a Plant Manager* Baked goods experience preferred but not required* Must have strong knowledge of HACCP, sanitation, maintenance, floor operations, quality, labor scheduling, and equipmentContact: apatt@judge.comThis job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
