Description M. Braun, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Buyer
to join our Purchasing Department. This individual should be highly
motivated with the ability to prioritize and work independently
once trained. This person will be responsible for the procurement
of parts and materials for production and maintaining stock
inventory. Identify suppliers, compare and negotiate price and lead
time with vendors. Complete related purchase orders and reports,
and maintain files. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate across
departments to ensure that operations are smooth and uninterrupted.
Job functions include, but are not limited to: Process purchase
orders and requisitions in a timely manner, ensuring quality,
service, quantity, delivery, and cost in accordance with
organizational objectives and sourcing strategies. Research and
locate vendors. Investigate and analyze the best sources of parts.
Obtain comparative prices on a regular basis to ensure the best
possible value. Maintain current cost data for all purchased items.
Update and maintain vendor files, purchasing records and the
company database. Process purchasing reports, document value added
through cost savings/avoidances, lead time and quality
improvements. Track and resolve purchasing, inventory and invoice
problem/discrepancy questions as applicable. Establish and maintain
professional business relationships with our supply chain partners.
Keep management advised of changes in the schedule of materials
due, as well as communicate any significant problems in a timely
manner. Support the Quality Manager with any supplier related
nonconformances including but not limited to, communicating NCR's
to the supplier, follow up on corrective actions and cost recovery.
Assist the Quality Manager with analysis of relevant supplier data
including but not limited to, frequency and cost of supplier
nonconformances as well as ABC analysis of suppliers. Participate
in the yearly review of the general purchasing situation based on
supplier performance in cooperation with our parent company. Assume
responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Job
Requirements The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and
possess excellent communication and organizational skills. They
should have the ability to maintain accurate detailed records. This
person must possess the ability to identify and resolve problems,
manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and handle
a fast paced work environment. They should be self-motivated with
the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision. Job
requirements include, but are not limited to: 5-7 years purchasing
experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of vendor
sourcing and purchasing procedures Experience with electronic
ordering Ability to read mechanical drawings preferred Proficiency
with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required Experience with
Navision preferred, but not required Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred Physical and Mental Requirements
Physical Requirement: Must have fine motor skills; be able to grasp
small items; some light lifting and carrying; ability to do a
repetitive motion; and the ability to sit for most of the day
Visual Requirement: Must be able to visually read documents and a
computer screen Hearing Requirement: Must be able to hear and speak
on the phone and in person to convey information Mental
