General Summary of Position:
The Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences (BNS) in the
Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences (ZCHS) at University of
Massachusetts Lowell (UML) welcomes applications for a Visiting
Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2025-2026
academic year starting September 1, 2025. This role is a full-time
visiting post with an anticipated 4-4 teaching load, which may be
adjusted based on teaching and service needs in the department. The
position is renewable at the end of the academic year based on
positive evaluation of teaching and service. The selected candidate
will become an integral part of the BNS Department, working in
collaboration with full-time BNS faculty and staff.
Teaching duties will include several sections of lecture and/or
laboratory courses, some of which are part of a NAACLS-accredited
Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program, as well as active
participation in the coordination efforts of multi-section courses
offered by the BNS department.
The successful candidate may also contribute to the Department
through participation in Department, College, and University
committees and events, advising undergraduate students, and
assisting with recruitment activities. This is a 9-month position,
however teaching in the summer months is possible for additional
compensation.
The BNS Department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied
Biomedical Sciences, Nutritional Science, and Pharmaceutical
Sciences, each with several options, including a renowned MLS
Program and a robust and growing Pre-Medical/Pre-Health Program. At
the graduate level, BNS offers Master of Science degrees in Applied
Biomedical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences, as well as a
Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
