This role is key to helping students feel welcomed and supported in our virtual community. Moderators serve as positive role models and provide quality engagement by maintaining a welcoming environment, ensuring content aligns with community guidelines, and helping foster SNHU spirit and connection.

This position also supports the Office of Student Involvement in general, and employees may participate in special projects as assigned. Our student employees are essential in helping us build community and supporting others finding a sense of belonging at SNHU. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor activity within SNHUconnect spaces to ensure all content adheres to community guidelines and university values.
    • Review and manage flagged posts for appropriate follow-up or escalation.
      • Welcome new students to the community and help guide them through their first touch points in SNHUconnect.
        • Assist with creating engaging content to promote student engagement in the SNHU Spirit space.
          • Assist with general community upkeep by archiving outdated posts.
            • Collaborate with other moderators and staff to ensure a consistent and supportive experience for all users.
              • Attend virtual trainings, check-ins, and team meetings as required.
                • Perform other duties as assigned.
                  Expectations:
                  • Provide thoughtful, inclusive, and supportive interactions in all community engagements.
                    • Maintain a consistent presence in SNHUconnect throughout scheduled shifts.
                      • Exhibit strong written communication skills and a professional tone when representing the university.
                        • Show initiative and be self-motivated while working remotely and independently.
                          • Promote a safe and respectful community space for all SNHU students.
                            Minimum Qualifications:
                            • Must be an active SNHU student and eligible for work study.
                              • Must be able to work either remotely or in-person and commit up to 20 hours per week.
                                • Must maintain a strong academic standing and demonstrate reliability in a remote work environment.

                                  Student workers in this role will gain valuable experience in virtual community management, digital communication, peer support, and content creation. They will deepen their understanding of:
