Job DescriptionPOSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Full-time/36-40 hours weekly AUTHORITY AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP The Receptionist reports to the Operations Manager. AMOUNT OF INDEPENDENT ACTION OF THE POSITIONApproval required when solution is not within normal policies and procedures. SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEProvide services in a timely, accurate and courteous manner to credit union members. Greet and refer members to appropriate credit union staff. Route telephone calls to appropriate credit union staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Direct incoming telephone calls to appropriate person/department.
  • Warmly welcome walk-in inquiries and direct those persons to the appropriate NBCU department.
    • Answer general member-related inquiries, and resolve member-related issues, within appropriate guidelines.
      • Monitor daily newspaper obituaries and adhere to operational procedures regarding the handling of deceased member accounts.
      • Monitor competitor term certificate and deposit account rates weekly, according to procedure.
      • Monitor and stock office supplies daily.
      • Process online ordering of office supplies for both branches, as needed.
      • Process and sort incoming and outgoing company mail, to include certified mail, and scheduling delivery pick-ups.
      • Log incoming mailed-in loan payments/check deposits.
      • Prepare membership fee notices to be mailed.
      • Sort and organize returned mail on member accounts, according to procedure.
        • Execute tasks/projects for the Operations Department, as needed and as directed.
        • Attend Credit Union staff meetings as required.
        • Adherence to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities which are specific to the position and reporting suspicious activities to Supervisor or BSA Officer. QUALIFICATIONS
          • High school graduate or GED.
          • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience is required.
          • Prior administrative or call center experience preferred, but not required.
          • Prior experience working in banking or finance is preferred, but not required.
          • Intermediate skills related to Microsoft Office applications. COMPETENCIES

            • The ability to work independently and take-on additional projects as assigned.

            • Strong organizational skills.
            • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
            • A strong commitment to achieving personal growth and success. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
